Eastern Golf Club

The Eastern Golf Club engaged Sportworks to design and develop a cohesive new signage suite for both the 18-hole championship course and the 9-hole Greg Norman–designed Shark Par 3 course. The goal was to create a unified aesthetic across both courses that balanced visual appeal, durability, and cost-efficiency — while complementing the club’s natural surroundings and premium facilities.

For the 18-hole course, Sportworks developed a concept that combined craftsmanship with sustainability. Local recycled timbers were used as back mounting plates to tie the signage into the surrounding landscape. Tee box signs were fabricated from stainless steel plates, precision-engraved with hole details, and finished with subtle colour infills. Each sign was sealed with a UV-stable matte clear coat to achieve an aged, natural look while protecting against weathering.

The directional signage was designed to mirror the tee signage, maintaining visual consistency across the course. Constructed with aluminium vinyl mounted to ACM panels, these signs featured UV-stable cast vinyl text — providing a long-lasting and cost-effective solution without compromising on quality or appearance.

The Eastern Golf Club now benefits from a refined and cohesive signage system that unifies both the 18-hole and Par 3 courses. The blend of recycled timber, stainless steel, and UV-protected finishes delivers a rustic yet premium look designed to endure the elements with minimal maintenance. The result is a signage suite that enhances wayfinding, reinforces the club’s brand identity, and complements the natural beauty of the Yarra Valley landscape.
